It all seems quiet ... Too quiet!

'Walking the Wall'  A Team of 4 of our members set off at 0500 on Tuesday, 22nd July, to walk from Wallsend  to Bowness on Solway - and arrived back at Wallsend at just after half past two on Thursday, 31st. The Team completed their walk in 71 hours 6 minutes - not including stopovers and breaks.  Many thanks to the numerous individuals who gave their encouragement en route, the AA Insurance Servicefor providing the Team with sustenance on their last day, Metro FM for their on-air encouragement, all the people along the Newcastle Quayside for cheering as they passed along, and the Curator and staff at Segedunum for the wonderful reception they provided when the Team arrived back where they started. Our thanks also go to the Newcastle-based North East Profiling and Engineering Company Limited, for supporting the event, and to all those people who individually sponsored the walkers.  Their sterling efforts raised over £1000, which will provide further resources towards their ongoing training.
