LINKS, NEWS AND DIARY DATES NEWS Unfortunately, Scuttlebutt Vol 8 Issue 4 has been 'lost' due to certain glitches and a virus which affected our publishing program! Not only did we lose that volume including backups, we also lost all previous editions! However, you will be pleased to know that they are still available on our server! For this we have to say 'Thank you' to our hosts, One.com We hope that normal service can be resumed as soon as possible. The good news is that Vol 9 Issue 1 has now been released, with a link which can be found in the box alongside. The hull of 'Blyth Venture' has now been repaired, as we found a soft area which had presumably taken a high-speed knock! The area had been ground out, filled and strengthenedwith a thick layer of GRP. Unfortunately, we have had to wait and to rely upon the weather being fine and dry, as a combination of GRP and atmospheric moisture (rain!) do not make for a successful repair! We only have to rub it down and give it a couple of coats of paint, and she will be as good as new! We have now collected quite a number of followers on Twitter, so why not do a search for us and increase our numbers? This is a fairly quiet time of the year for us news-wise, as we move from our summer to winter regimes. Instead of participating in community events, we return to the 'classroom' for updating our skills, and concentrate on maintaining our boat and equipment ready for more 'on the water' training. "Unfortunately, someone has to do it!" ... So says the Old Man as he once again represents us at a Royal Navy Official Reception on board HMS Bulwark on Tuesday 1st November! OTHER NEWS and DIARY DATES We have upgraded the Galley at our HQ, and have fitted a new sink unit and re-plumbed to toilet water supply. At least it now delivers a quiet flush!! The result is that the training room now looks twice the size, as we have freed up more floor space. Below are some pictures of our galley and training room.

Bottom left: An original Dallas Taylor painting on the chimney breast, and on the bottom right is our bell, which we mounted ourselves. Have a look at our Community pages in the Gallery We now have Donations and Wish List pages on this site. Donations can be made through our secure and easy to use PayPal 'Donate' button.
